In 1692, an artist created an 800 page book recording every color imaginable. The artist, known as A. Boogert, explains how certain hues change tone by adding 1, 2, or 3 parts water. The book was intended as an educational guide, according to Medieval book historian, Erik Kwakkel, and is an incredible work of craftsmanship and documentation. It is currently kept at the Bibliotheque Mejanes in France.
