The artist, known as A. Boogert, explains how certain hues change tone by adding 1, 2, or 3 parts water. The book\u00a0was intended as an educational guide, according to Medieval book historian, Erik Kwakkel, and is an incredible\u00a0work of craftsmanship and documentation.
